Poll Results Now In - The Memons have spoken!

Over a week ago, we asked the following question on this website. The poll was open for a week and ended on 28 May. Thanks to the 31 people who voted, and here are the results (in order of the most votes):

WHAT DO YOU WANT THE NEW COMMITTEE TO DO IN THE NEXT 2 MONTHS?

  • Get the Centre extension project going: ...16 people = 51%
  • Barbecue: ........................................ 9 people = 29%
  • Collect funds for a charitable cause: ........ 3 people = 9%
  • Excursion/ Trip to Skegness: ................. 2 people = 6%
  • Sports tournament :............................. 1 person = 3%
So the majority of the people (over half!) want the extension project to start, closely followed by a Barbecue at the Centre in the next 2 months. Perhaps the committee can COMBINE these 2 things and arrange a Fundraising Barbecue say sometime in July where all proceeds go towards the Centre Extension Project!

Apart from that, a lot of other comments and suggestions have been received so far which we will inshaAllah collate and post on the site in the next few days (if you haven't done so, please give us your first name & email address to be kept updated, thanks).

Wednesday's Champions League Final watched Live at the Memon Centre!

The football match gathering on Wednesday at 730pm at the Memon Centre was organised by Imtiaz Gaffar and Ashraf Okhai. The event was a great success and approx 80 people turned up which included a number of kids. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the evening thoroughly. Our special thanks to Irfan Karim (Iffy) for sorting out the screen. Also many thanks to Asif Apex, Shabbir Rangers, Shiraz Nathani, Rafik Alif and all the others for their help in assisting with the occassion. Also thanks to Koyla Restaurant and Best Buy Cash & Carry for offering discounted food and drinks. We wish to organise these evnts on a regular basis and request your support.
